Quality Sleep Mattress Comfort Scale

What is a comfort scale?  Is it the firmness?   Is it the support level?  Yes and Yes.  The mattress comfort scale rating is primarily a firnness rating, however it will also give you an estimate of how much in-the-bed versus above-the-bed your body will be.

Imagine the firmness level of 10 which would feel like lying on a board with only a thin blanket on top, or perhaps a really firm carpeted floor. Now imagine stacking 10 fluffy down comforters on top of each other and laying on top or floating on a cloud. That would feel more like a 1 on the comfort scale. Usually somewhere in between is a good level of comfort and support.

Comfort is the initial feeling that says WOW this is comfortable and you should experience fewer pressure points on your body, and support is your body being in more of a natural position with your spine closer to it's natural alignment.

Please keep in mind that the ranges for primary sleeping positions below are an average, and some sleepers prefer firmer or softer than the average.

Side Sleepers = 4,5, or 6

So if a 10 is like a board, and 1 is like a cloud, then what is best?   That is for you to decide. Good luck, and may the comfort scale be with you!
